smallfuzzy at 10:19am on 06/06/2009Okay. I haven't read the Chalet School books for a few years. So, I need to know, what are they scared Robin might get? Asthma? Cancer? Leukemia?
They keep referring to it as "that thing we dread" which is just bewildering. And that Joey blames it on Robin being *worried* one night when she didn't come home doesn't help.

The dreaded disease for Robin is the same as that for most other people at the sanatorium: TB. Her mother died of it, and Robin was always seen as "delicate", so I guess either they thought she might have caught it from her mother, or that she was simply delicate enough to develop it later in life.
