An Important Message

Right, UKers, what I'm about to tell you may be more important than anything I will say to you in the next five years, so if you ever listen to me do it now.

The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday. You can do it online nice and easy, here.

http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/

Do it. Do it now. Do it even if you don't know who to vote for. Do it if you don't think your vote really counts. Do it even if you think the three main parties really suck. DO IT NOW.

Why? Because if you change your mind after Tuesday and hear someone who sounds awesome enough that you want to throw him or her cookies it will be TOO LATE THEN. Because if you don't, and someone really crap gets in, they can blame it on the younger generation being apathetic, rather than.. them just being crap. Because if ten people vote and one of them votes BNP, Nick Griffin gets to put his odious face all over the newspapers claiming a 10% swing to BNP -- even if they get no seats. If that's one in twenty people, one in thirty, one in a hundred -- you see the difference?

Register. Go to vote. I don't care who for (though please not BNP). I could tell you to vote for my party, but that's not the most important thing right now. Vote for greens if you want, vote independent, vote bumper raving loonies if you're stuck, and if there's no-one else draw a little smily face and spoil your paper. But VOTE. Tell your friends to vote. Remind them to register. And pass this on -- boost the signal! Don't let the newspaper headlines be about apathy all over again, not if we can help it.
