While I agree with chesneycat's rant today on Cameron's promise to help people be teachers, as long as they go to the "right" universities I find myself equally uncomfortable and at odds with Brown's offer to help the brightest kids from the poorest families achieve social mobility.

Laura: Because the answer SHOULD have been "For all the hype. Google Chrome OS hasn't even LAUNCHED yet so no-one really KNOWS how completely relying on cloud computing will affect anything. However, as we're clearly in THE FUTURE I asked my robot dog and he said that it means there won't BE any installation because you'll just be supplying your users with usernames and passwords to access apps in the cloud. Maybe one per app for many different companies, maybe just one for google. Who knows? It's the Future. But it certainly won't need automated or remote installation."
