I've been a bit naughty at work today. And by "a bit" I mean "very, and I enjoyed every minute of it".

See, Boro (my home football team) play Newcastle (my office location) tonight. It's a big game - losing for either team means relegation, and a draw is good for neither) And while I don't usually follow football, area loyalty means the Boro has to be the team I don't follow most. Of course, I had to rub this in a bit. I was tempted to borrow my mum's boyfriend's scarf even (likely lucky I didn't - I might just have gotten lynched.

Best touch was the local radio with their own rendition of the Winner Takes It All this morning.


Al's played all his cards
And that;s what Southend's done too
Nothing more to say
Neither team can play

Al's in Geordie arms
Thinking he belongs there
And when he's feeling tense
He creosotes his fence (they might have been getting a bit desperate there)

Al must win at home
Has to play it strong there

Who don't like the rules

(Almost as amusing was the office panic caused when someone started the rumour that Setanta, the channel showing the game, had gone bust.)
